Launching Wild Magic Yarns
Well, it has been an exciting 10 days! When I decided to make Wild Magic Yarns a full-time business, I had a LOT to worry about. Mainly, how I will pay the bills. I am still worried about this, but new businesses take time to establish, and I am really happy with how things are going so far.
I have launched my new monthly yarn club, "Yarnimal Crossing", and cannot describe how much I appreciate the orders. I am absolutely thrilled that people actually want my yarn! I've had so much fun planning and preparing, and I closed the January orders today. I've been busy making stitch markers (spoiler alert - this month you get two!) and now I have numbers, I can start to dye!
I did a stock take of dye, and realised I have far too many pots and tubs to fit in the two drawers I had allocated to dye, so I have ordered a little cupboard which arrived today, flat-packed. I LOVE putting together flat-packed furniture, so that will be a job for tomorrow. Well, today, but I am not sleeping very well at the moment and seem to be awake all night, which is very frustrating. Any insomnia tips would be very welcome!
I also need to film a podcast for YouTube. I had some filming equipment for Christmas including a tripod, a ring light and I also have a little external microphone and phone holder winging their way to me, courtesy of the TikTok shop!
I have started a year-long project too, which I will tell you more about when I have taken some photographs and can explain it properly. It is not for the sensitive amongst us! Think temperature blanket... but absolutely not a blanket. Or a temperature tracker.
All will be revealed very soon, but for now, here is Sheldon enjoying the yarn for the project!
